Daily Prayer #18

Opening Prayer
Blessed be God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. And blessed be his kingdom, now and for ever.

Almighty God, unto whom all hearts are open, all desires known, and from whom no secrets are hid: Cleanse the thoughts of our hearts by the inspiration of Your Holy Spirit, that we may perfectly love You, and worthily magnify Your holy Name; through Christ our Lord. Amen

(Be still before the Lord)

Prayer of the Bible
Sing to the Lord all the earth, sing and bless God’s holy name.
Sing a new song to the Lord, for God has done marvelous deeds.
The Lord has made known his salvation for all peoples to behold.
The Lord has remembered his faithfulness, his steadfast love for all peoples.

Make a joyful noise to the Lord! Break forth into song of praise!
Sing praises to the Lord with sound of music, with trumpet and horn rejoice in the Lord. Let the sea roar, let the floods clap their hands,
the hills sing together for joy in the Lord. Let the heavens proclaim the Lord’s righteousness and all peoples behold God’s glory.
- From Psalm 95 and 97

(Blessing and Praising God for Who He is)

Words of Jesus
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
—John 13:34,35

(Think deeply
on these words
of Jesus)

Prayers for Ourselves and Others
Pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.
—Ephesians 6:18

(Free prayer of request and intercession)

Closing Prayer:
I pray that, according to the riches of his glory, the Father may grant that you may be strengthened in your inner being with power through his Spirit, and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, as you are being rooted and grounded in love. I pray that you may have the power to comprehend, with all the saints, what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to him who by the power at work within us is able to accomplish abundantly far more than all we can ask or imagine, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen
--Ephesians 3:16-20
